How much does it cost to build a Papa Johns Franchise?

Our designs are fresh, yet cost-effective. To build a Papa Johns unit costs between $425,000- $525,000, depending upon the size of the unit and the market in which the unit is built. This cost includes design and build, signs, equipment and fixtures, smallwares, computer/IT equipment and start-up food supply.

What are the standard franchise fees?

The initial franchise fee is $25,000.

What is the standard royalty fee?

There is an ongoing royalty fee equal to 5.5% of net sales.

What are the marketing and advertising fees?

Total advertising and marketing fees are 4.5%

  • 3.5% is contributed to the regional marketing fund
  • 1% is contributed to the global marketing fund.
  • You are also expected to spend 2-3% on local store marketing

What are the minimum financial requirements?
A minimum of $130,000 – $160,000 in unencumbered cash is required. The remaining funds can be financed.
Does Papa Johns provide training?
Yes, we provide initial training for the operator of 6-8 weeks. In addition, we continue to provide ongoing training for you and your team.
Does Papa Johns provide financing?

We do not provide financing, however we can help you find a lender that will work with you.

Can I choose a specific location for my new restaurant?

Provided it meets our criteria, we are happy to work with you to develop a site you have in mind. Alternatively, we have sites  ready for development.

Does Papa Johns offer multi-unit development deals?

We do offer multi-unit development deals to qualified franchisees who have experience doing this.
